Borrowing

Any and all borrowing needs to go through Chris or Rae. This includes dongles, chargers, computers, etc.

Warranties

If a computer is under warranty, we will not work on it. Most warranties are voided if opened by someone who is not certified. This is particularly true with Macs. NEVER open an Apple computer until you have looked up its warranty status.

If the issue is software installation, drivers, or some other software-related issue, we can work on it. Most of these are short problems, so the machine does not stay in the DC for very long. If a warrantied computer is staying in the office, clearly mark it as a warranty computer and make a note not to open it.

Signs, Key, and Locking

Anytime you leave the DC unattended (no other student worker in the room) shut the door. You should leave a note if you'll be back in a couple of minutes. If it's the end of your shift and the next person hasn't shown up yet, flip the sign to 'Sorry, we're closed'.
